About Tanja Menzel
My story and what led me to counselling for women.
My name is Tanja Menzel. I was born on 20 March 1985 in Steinheim, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Today I am the mother of a wonderful boy and live with my family and our animals, three dogs, a cat, a horse and eight hens.

Ways to work with me today
I support women in individual conversations, seminars, group coaching and facilitated group sessions online, all in German. In each format, the aim is to understand your story better and find steps you can choose for yourself in everyday life.

Open to people.
Connected to the world around me.
I am curious and open. I’m drawn to the questions that lie beneath the obvious.
Why are we the way we are? What shapes our personalities? Why do certain situations come up again and again? And how much of what we feel and experience today has its roots in our own story?
Ever since childhood, I have felt a special connection with nature, animals and the world around me. I like to pay close attention to my surroundings and am curious about energy, intuition, dreams and the many ways we experience the world.
I stay open to different perspectives and have kept my curiosity about life to this day.

My path
Over the years I have learnt that life rarely follows a straight line. There are times when we feel secure and others when life hits us with a force we could scarcely have imagined.
My own experiences shaped me too. They prompted me to look more closely, ask questions and explore what lies behind our behaviour, family influences and emotional experiences.
I’ve learnt that personal experiences don’t simply disappear as we grow older. Some stay with us for years, sometimes without our noticing. Looking more closely can help us see what these experiences mean for how we live today.
I want to bring that openness and understanding to my counselling work.

Why I want to support women
I know how valuable it can be to meet someone you can be yourself with.
Someone who listens without rushing to judge or pigeonhole. Someone who hears what’s said and notices that there may be more beneath the words.
My own life experience brings a personal perspective to my work. I can empathise with a range of emotional situations and know that everyone has a story and a pace of their own.
My training in child, youth and family coaching is the professional foundation of my work. In counselling, I combine it with reflection on your life story. Together we explore formative experiences, family roles and the possibilities open to you today.
I want to help women understand their own stories, discover fresh perspectives and rebuild trust in themselves.
You can read about how we work together under “Finding your way back to yourself”. You decide which topics and next steps are right for you.
Passed the
final examination
Child, youth
and family coach
My training as a child, youth and family coach comprised 450 teaching units and concluded with a final examination, which I passed.
The training covered coaching foundations, family and upbringing, and working with children, teenagers, parents and families. I draw on this knowledge in counselling to explore family influences with you, recognise recurring relationship patterns and find practical steps for everyday life.
I am not a psychotherapist and do not offer psychotherapy. My work is psychosocial counselling and coaching for adult women outside clinical care. It takes place online only.
Qualification and scope of counselling +
A private training certificate documents the qualification.
The training does not authorise me to practise healthcare. The individual conversations offered on this website are for adult women and take place online only. Scope and limits of counselling.
Life can feel like a balancing toy that keeps getting back up.
If I had to sum up my life in an image, it would probably be that little toy that rights itself after every push.
Life can knock us down in waves. Sometimes we think we cannot get up again. For me, that little toy stands for the hope that we can keep looking for steadier ground and a path of our own.
I believe it matters to find your own footing in life.
To understand who you are. The place you want to take. What truly matters to you and what meaning you want to give your own life.
A clearer sense of where you stand can give you something to hold on to, even when another wave or a headwind comes.
We can learn to meet them like a rock. Life may still shake us, and we can learn how to find our way back to ourselves each time.
I don’t believe we can control our lives completely. I do believe we can keep choosing how we meet what happens.
That’s the thought I want to pass on.
